declare love on the terrorist
it seems like popular jargon now to declare war on almost anything. i find this rather sad really. with war there are no winners and it only brings destruction so how can declaring war on some problem (for example Anorexia) make any sense? personally, i don’t think it makes any sense to declare war on terrorism either.
let us instead declare our love. today the church celebrates the feast of st. paul’s conversion. terrorists are not beyond redemption. if they are then we would have to rip out half of the new testament because it was written by a converted terrorist.
today whether we feast or not, let us consider what it means to follow Jesus in our response to those we consider to be our enemies. let us strive to find that difficult path of loving each other.
